This module aims to familiarise students with the sources and the roles of major nutrients and their relative importance to health and wellbeing of their clients; The digestion process and nutritional requirements for health as well as a range of prospective and theories in nutrition, correlation of disease in the absence of elements. It will introduce the students to some aspects of applied research, demonstrating how findings can be applied to a health context. It will highlight many controversies and debates linked to topics such as obesity, eating disorders and the values of vitamins.

This Module is designed to introduce new practitioners to the many issues they will confront when working with clients, clinics, doctors and the NHS; it give them the tools and reflective techniques to deal with a variety of situations; It introduces students to the regulations for the future and ways that practitioners can look after their own health.
