This site is designed to support students studying A2 English Language and Literature at St Austell. It contains study and revision guides and useful web links.

This course consists of two units, one examined and one coursework.  The first introduces you to the concepts in studying language, and shows how to analyse spoken and written text in systematic ways, using linguistic frameworks; it also examines how social contexts influence the way language is produced.  The coursework unit, Original Writing, requires you to write two texts out of four genres: persuade, entertain, instruct or inform.  You keep all drafts and produce commentaries on the drafting and writing processes.
